Livestock Overseer

Full time Gunnedah NSW

Customised Farm Management (CFM) is an independent agricultural asset management company offering highly innovative management services. We manage a number of corporate scale agricultural assets across Queensland, New South Wales & Northern Territory, with a broad spectrum of cropping activities from irrigated summer crops to winter dryland cereal cropping and livestock. CFM has been at the forefront, developing skilled people in permanent crop developments leading the step change in this industry class with developments encompassing Citrus, Kiwifruit, Almond & Pistachio's.


The Role

We are looking for a Livestock Overseer to lead a team, support the Farm Manager and work alongside the Cropping Overseer.

Our 13,000ha property, Glenrowan Station, is situated 40km from Gunnedah supports a breeding and backgrounding operation running a 2,500 head Angus breeding herd supported by a strong genetic program. Progeny are grown out through an established feeder program, alongside an F1 Wagyu program.

The property features subtropical pastures and fodder crop production, providing a reliable feed base for breeding and growing young cattle. The business uses Agri-Webb for livestock and paddock management.

There is a primary school located in close proximity to the property, with a high school in Gunnedah accessible via a school bus service from the front gate.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day management of all livestock and infrastructure including overseeing of contractors and liaison with suppliers in conjunction with the Farm Manager.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all animal husbandry applications.

What we need from You:

  • Experience with AgriWebb or similar livestock management software would be an advantage
  • Sound understanding and practical experience with a broad range of animal husbandry techniques and best agricultural practices.
  • A deep passion for the Agricultural Industry.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience working with cattle.
  • Experience mustering with buggies and/or horses highly regarded.
  • Ownership of working dogs and/or horses will be considered a strong advantage.
  • The ability to work both in a team environment and independently.
  • Strong communication skills with a mature, practical approach.
  • Current drivers licence essential (HR licence desirable).
